|Blue Cheese Pottery||Canada||Blue Cheese Pottery|
Blue Cheese Pottery is located on the north shore of Lake Ontario in historic Port Hope, Ontario, Canada. The name ‘Blue Cheese Pottery’ was inspired by an earlier sculptural piece I made which my classmates felt resembled a chunk of blue cheese.
Production is done in the home studio, where I have adopted a more ‘experiential’ tradition in pottery. The small heated studio is equipped with a double sink with a Gleco Trap, a wheel, a slab roller and lots of pottery gadgets, clay, under glazes and glazes. I have had to expand into the adjoining garage with my 2 kilns, dry materials and equipment. There’s never enough space! A small work area is set up in our basement, dedicated to the tile production.
The Studio production includes functional wares, decorative art tiles, sculptural pieces and cremation urns.

|Simon Birch||United Kingdom||Multi-media work by Simon Birch|
I grew up in South London and I have aways had a keen and dedicated interest in art and design. My father was an inspiring artist, and his father before him. Always passionate about creating visual art from an early age, I was awarded a special prize for art at school and progressed to gain a degree in Fine Art in 1986.
Towards the end of my degree studies I expanded my interests to include various forms of film, photography, music and multimedia. My degree show was a multimedia event and this led to collaboration with pioneering video artist George Barber and exhibitions and installation work in London in galleries and clubs.
From the early 1990’s my musical projects led to extensive recording and music production work (some at EMI and Island studios).
In the mid 1990’s I moved to Salisbury, Wiltshire and at this time I produced many illustrations for various publications and publishers including Primary File, the Letts Revision Aids, The Informed Parent and others.
In the early 2000’s I produced photographs and installations for clubs and festivals). At this time I was also producing my own music (X-Amount, X-Amt) and teaching sound technology and multimedia to Further and Higher Education students at the London University (LCC) on Apple Mac systems.
Soon my educational abilities led to full time FE teaching in sound technology until mid 2010. I did however, keep my personal artistic activities going, producing and playing in two bands that performed concerts in Europe and played at 3 Glastonbury Festivals.
My artwork is always advancing no matter how busy I am, and by this time had evolved (along with technology) into more digitally based projects. I produced many posters, flyers, gift cards, logos and album covers for a varied range of clientele.
I moved back to South London in 2011. I am now continuing my illustration and photography work as well as producing more 2-dimensional artworks, digital designs and new musical projects.

|Miguel Lopez||Spain||Impressionism artist and paintings|
Self-taught Oil painter and Palette knife artist with a ready talent, born of an artist who is a licentiate of the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid. Steeped in the world of art and painting from an early age. Pedagogue and poet. “Colour is my language, my poetry”. Art is language ineffable. Each experience in the perception of a work will always be, more than anything, a feeling, an emotion. Unique and different for each individual being, he often says in conversation.
Miguel Lopez is a 21st century Spanish impressionism artist with a wonderful sensitivity for colour, with a romantic impressionist flair. He delights us with his great talent for the treatment of light which reflect softly in his rosy dusks, and with his peculiar way of living and understanding art. There is the creativity of his highly original work. Young and impatient with the brush or the spatula, eccentric, standing back from fashion and the canons of today. He starts with his devotion to his passion, art. We might call him “the artist of color”, for it is colour that he handles and mixes with such mastery and subtle harmony. He creates what he calls “the music in art”. A work is only finished when the harmony of sounds flows out of his colours.

|Kathi Peters||United States||Contemporary Impressionism depicting everything Equine,Canine and Natural|
"From the sanctuary of our small farm nestled in the Maine woods, to the hotbed of horse-country in Lexington, Kentucky, I have found subjects that inspire me to paint them. Light and shadow call out to be put on canvas. I move from realism to abstraction, mixing the two …. I see color, edges, movement and design everywhere I look. I need to paint them. My written word might be limited now after suffering a stroke, but my visual vocabulary is unlimited.
Casein is my medium of choice, a milk-based medium that has stood the test of time. Its earthy colors with muted hues capture the moment and mood I aspire to create. Yet I am also drawn to transparent watercolor with delicate luminous wash and fine line……and lately to oil paint with its vibrant colors when painted on an archival copper substrate.
With every painting, I am striving to tell a story, trying to invoke a memory and hopefully I can touch a heart."
|Robert Keller||United States||robertkeller.webs.com|
I began painting in my youth. My parents enrolled me into plein aire classes and I took it from there. Later I took a classic airbrushing class at my local junior college. Other than that I am self taught. Seeing the direction modern art has taken, I'm glad I missed the indoctrination. Don't misunderstand me. I like the freedom afforded by the notion that anything can be considered art. Where I disconnect is with the onslaught of casual work that requires little to no thought, effort or skill.
To me the choice of topic is of utmost importance. If you are sacrificing a portion of your brief mortal existence to create something, it ought to be significant. Again aspects of the modern movement such as "I have nothing significant to say, and I'm saying it" do not resonate with me. To all such participants in the modern art movement, I say "please find a new pastime."
I mostly agree with the following
May the art world recover and regain respect from those who would appreciate effort in creativity.
