| Tania Doucet was born in New Brunswick, Canada worked/studied in Nova Scotia and Ontario, and currently resides in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Having abandoned realism in 2005, Tania’s current work reflects her desire to distance herself from the tangible and embrace the evocative. She is often inspired by a fraction of a scene, object or moment. In response, her landscapes and abstracts are transformed into something ethereal, though it is often the strong sense of colour that first captures the eye. Since moving to PEI in 2008, she has also dedicated a portion of her time to painting island landscapes and cityscapes, but from a different approach. In particular, she focuses mostly on night scenes, adding slightly surreal elements to bring a touch of whimsy to her portrayals. | |||||
