| My Mom always loved my little pen and ink drawings of Benny Hill,Charlie Brown,Flintstone and PBS' Mystery characters that I did in my late teens and early 20's.As a little girl arts and crafts were always my favorite thing to do, whether it was making paper flowers or drawing pictures.Visits with my uncle always include mini art lessons on perspective and the figure and stories of his instructions from Nicolai Fechin.I've worked at retail jobs, been head artist at local personalized gift stores and I've done mural painting and some small commissions in between. After painting various subjects from portraits to landscapes and still lifes-I wanted to do it all... I was told by a good friend and gallery owner to "stick with one thing'make that your signature.."Well ,I realized that what I really enjoyed was capturing that special look or pose -that moment in time.So that's what I will keep doing and I can't live without it. |
