Description The purpose of this site is to enable amateur artists to showcase their work in an environment that encourages them to contribute good quality material that otherwise would remain beyond view in private collections, often never seeing the light of day.

We are a group of amateur artists based in the United Kingdom, and although the central focus of the material is UK-based, we will be welcoming submissions from all over the world.

We offer the opportunity to participate at several levels:

Display your art using our interactive gallery facility
Submit your own art news articles
Submit links to your own art web site or online gallery
We also encourage participation through a facility to add constructive comment relating to each piece. You may also send art 'e-cards' to any e-mail recipient of your choice.

A charge of 10% has been introduced for all sales of work made directly through localartist. (This is less than most sites charge). It will enable us to continue to provide this service for artists to exhibit their work free of charge.
